Friends of the Irish College

“The Friends of the Pontifical Irish College, Rome, Inc” (PIC-US) was established in 2000. This is a charitable organisation which financially assists the mission of the College. In its fifteen years in operation PIC-US has collected nearly $2 million in donations and has given over $900,000 in grants to the Pontifical Irish College.  The aim of PIC-US is to complement the programme of formation offered by the College by providing programmes that would not normally be available to the College.  These have included pilgrimages to the Holy Land (2005) and in the footsteps of Saint Paul in Turkey (2006), Salamanca and Avila (2007), the provision of an all-weather sports facility, air conditioning for the main building, contributions towards the renovation of the library, installation of a solar hot water system, and the upgrading the College’s computer and information systems.  PIC-US generously assisted with the  renovation of the College’s Chapel. Currently it is contributing to the renovation of the seminarians’ rooms.  Future projects under review include the renovation of the College heating and fire alarm and security systems.

The Friends of the Pontifical Irish College, Rome, Inc. is incorporated in Washington DC and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a  §501 (c) (3) US public charity.
