Fr Dong- Hwa Ri of the Diocese of Busan (Korea) defended his doctoral dissertation in the Faculty of Social Science at the Gregorian University on Monday 14 December 2009.

The thesis was entitled " The impact of Religion in Constructing Collective Identity on Catholic Labour Movement in Korea " and was directed by Fr Daniel McDonald SJ.

Fr Paolo Scoponi of the Diocese of Fermo (Italy) defended his doctoral dissertation in the Faculty of Canon Law at the Gregorian University on Wednesday 16 December 2009.

The thesis was entitled "I divieti matrimoniali in casi singoli " and was directed by Fr Michael Hilbert SJ.

Fr Wodzislaw Szczepanik of the Diocese of Sokolow (Poland) defended his doctoral dissertation in the Faculty of Theology at Università della Santa Croce on Tuesday 27 October, 2009.

The thesis was entitled "From D. Hume’s passage on ‘is’ and ‘ought’ to E.G.M. Anscombe’s response to the ‘is-ought’ question" and was directed by Prof. Juan A. Mercado.

Fr Miroslaw Tykfer of the Diocese of Poznan (Poland) defended his doctoral dissertation in the Faculty of Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University on 16th October, 2009.

The thesis was entitled "Verità della fede ed ordine degli affetti. La ragione teologica della fede pasquale nella prospettiva dialogica della conoscenza affettiva’ and was directed by Fr Michael Paul Gallagher  S.J.

Fr Dermot Ryan of the Diocese of Ossory defended his doctoral dissertation in the Faculty of Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University on 25 June, 2009. 

The thesis was entitled  ‘Method to Mission: The Ecclesial Vocation of a Post-Conciliar Theologian, as Exemplified in the Works of Francis A. Sullivan SJ in the Context of Method at the Gregorian University’ and was directed by Fr William Henn OFM Cap.

Fr Josef Kunes of the Diocese of Namská Bystrica defended his doctoral dissertation in the Faculty of Canon Law at the Pontifical Lateran University on 26 June, 2009. 

The thesis was entitled "Divergenze ef Affinita concettuali tra impotenza ex Can 1084 ed incapacita di assumere ex Can 1095 N. 3 rilievi giurisprudenziali" and was directed by Prof. M.J. Aroba Conde.
