A Time for Priests 11 – 21 September 2012

The Pontifical Irish College is pleased to announce the ninth annual Time for Priests which will take place from 11 to 21 September 2012. Priests both diocesan and religious from Ireland, Britain, the United States and beyond have enjoyed the ambiance, camaraderie, prayer, learning and relaxation afforded them by this gathering. This year the focus is on the priest and the new evangelisation reflecting the theme of the 2012 Synod of Bishops. 

Liturgies will be celebrated in the recently renovated Irish College chapel and in various locations in Rome and beyond. There will be opportunities to visit many of the sites associated with the genesis of the Church. There will be a day of recollection and a day simply to do as you wish. The speakers will include

Archbishop Rino Fisichella President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelisation 

Fr Brendán Leahy, Archdiocese of Dublin

Fr Ciarán O’Carroll, Pontifical Irish College

Ms Rosemary Lavelle, Office of Evangelisation, Archdiocese of Dublin

Fr Chris Hayden, Pontifical Irish College.

The cost remains stable at €1,450.  A deposit of €450 is required to secure a place. Please arrange your own travel to Rome. Rooms are en-suite and meals half board. Many dioceses recognise this course as ongoing formation with attendant subsidy. Those who wish to arrive some days early or remain after the course concludes may do so subject to availability.
